It’s a long drive down a straight, narrow road, but the Potosi Public Access Area offers you another great view of the river — the time from way out on the river itself. On a windy day, you’ll want to hold on.

Though the Grant River Recreation Area is small, it offers a big view of one of Pool 11’s widest spots and is always worth a stop if you’re in the area. While I’d never tell anyone what to do, I’m personally more comfortable watching the seasoned locals use the ramp than using it myself.
Whatever the time of year, there’s always something to see, and the nearby Potosi Brewery makes a perfect staging area — or refueling stop.
