The Landing Trail Redux

When the river is up, you’ll see all sorts of unusual things, including baitfish swimming in the parking lot. I got the baitfish, but missed the little water snake that swam through, parting the cloud like something out of a David Attenborough documentary.

Details

With the river up and the Summer Folk thundering in for Memorial Day Weekend, I decided to retrace the “Landing Trail” wander I took in early March: Glen Haven to Bagley to Wyalusing. (I left off the Wisconsin River).

The boat ramps were all flooded to various degrees, but the early corn was up in the fields along the way and the deep green of spring has transformed the entire region. You forget just how dramatic the seasonal contrasts are until you experience them.
