Governor Dodge State Park

Being out on the ice, walking across the frozen lake, was a pretty stimulating experience, but the entire park is full of treasures.

Club members who follow things on my Patreon site know about my humorously unsuccessful attempt at filming a video wander at Wyalusing State Park near Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. After licking my wounds and sulking a little, I was ready to give it another try — this time at Governor Dodge State Park in Dodgeville.

Though the day started out a little dreary, it surprised us all by becoming sunny and deliciously warm — the first warm day in quite a while. It was nice to see so much activity at the park. Part of winter survival involves getting out in it, and Governor Dodge allows you to engage the winter just about any way you want: hiking, camping, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing or just sightseeing. I didn’t get pictures, but there was even a youth hockey game off the Cox Hollow boat landing.
